  1. Clarity would be so much more robust and flexible if client privacy settings were tied to the client and not the agency. Our community offers clients the ability to revoke consents. We also import data from another system so we are forced to choose between database health (client matching on) or client privacy. All of these issues would be resolved if client privacy was set at the client level vs. the agency.

  2. Our agency needs certain alerts to never expire until they are marked resolved. We use these alerts for safety concerns so it is critical that they come up when a client record is found by search or scan, until they are resolved. Currently, expiration date cannot be left blank. We propose that a checkbox/switch be added for "indefinite" that hides the expiration date (this could be an option at the agency level). Then when the alert is resolved, it can be edited to expire.

  3. Currently, auto exits only populate the Destination with No Exit Interview, everything else is Data Not Collected. Why is it not assumed that the enrollment or most current assessment data is not relevant for an auto exit? If the client walks away from the shelter, and is manually exited, the data cascades, assuming their situation has not changed. The auto exit makes their exit outcomes worse, and Data Not Collected makes our Systems Performance Measures sink deeper than the Titanic.   4. It would be helpful to be able to search within Clarity for an Agency or Program by its ID. This would have been particularly helpful while addressing LSA flags.

  6. Since we provide 24/7 services, many of our emergency shelter staff work inconsistent, relief, or weekend schedules. This makes the requirement that new staff log in within 24 hours of their account being made often impractical. This results in a ton of back-and-forth and frustrations. It would be very, very helpful to be able to create exceptions to this policy.

  7. We know that staff creating/updating any screen (enrollment, assessment, service) is available in Looker. But it is completely baffling that this information is not immediately visible in the front-end of Clarity, from the history tab, etc. A supervisor or another program staff member should be able to click on a history tab, assessments screen, etc. and immediately see who completed a certain action. This is necessary for really basic management.

  9. Usually when I am running a DQX or APR report, I want the report in at least two, if not all three, formats. It's time-consuming to go through and re-select all the options to run the same report in a different format. Thanks!

  10. Some programs do not use a model where the enrolling staff person is the one the client is "assigned to." For example, our Front Door Triage program enrolls guests in shelter, at which point a responsible staff member is not known. The current behavior is that the staff person who completes the enrollment is the one who is "assigned," which is not accurate. (And it is currently used as a proxy for who did the enrollment, which is a terrible assumption - the enrolling staff should be listed on the history/program tab instead). Our HMIS team spends a great deal of time trying to anticipate how updates to Looker and Clarity will impact existing reports and functionality used to meet our community's needs, testing once the updates have launched, and fixing broken reports when possible. It would be helpful if Bitfocus could provide a detailed list of projects in advance of building them out and provide customers an opportunity to offer feedback on how these updates will impact our communities so that can be considered before building out the changes.

  12. We need to track historical attendance for our shelter programs, including slot information. We are often asked to report where someone stayed (their slot) longer than 90 days ago, but that is apparently all that is available in the Reservations Model. Not only does this mean that we need to combine data from multiple models just to get total history, it means that we are not able to provide this tracking for all kinds of vital business needs (contact tracing, legal requests, etc.) Please change this!

  13. The birth_nation field would be more useful to us if it included all countries. Would Bitfocus be open to adding options to this field so that it includes all countries from this list and communities don't have to build a custom field?

  15. It would be very, very helpful to be able to see the HUD destination at program exit in the program history screen. As of now, we have to click into the program and click over to the exit screen to see this.

  16. For "Enterprise" users, we can choose exactly what permissions our users have for each tab in the client profile and enrollment pages. For the Agency Manager's "Manage" module, you get it all with no limits. Two examples: 1) We would like to be able to assign an Agency Manager that is not allowed to edit programs. 2) We would like an Agency Manager that can add/edit Services and add/edit Accounts, but nothing else.

  17. The Fellowship of the Colorado HMIS Leads would like to formally request a feature enhancement related to the Client Merge tool. Essentially, we would like for the meta data associated with the client profile’s creation date to default to the date of the oldest client record being merged.

    Ex:

    Jon Smith has two client records, one created on 1/1/2017 and one created on 1/1/2020.

    Regardless of which client record is selected as the dominant record to merge, it would be most beneficial if the oldest meta data for the client profile create date remained after the merge (in this example,…

When editing a program and working with the program options in the the right column, (such as bed list or funding), once one of those options is selected you are unable to tell which program you are editing data for. It would be nice if the program title could carry into the screen you are working in within program admin.

  20. Objective: Only show relevant fields on report.


    1. If the field is hidden on the screen, then hide the field in the report.

    Reason: With the addition of the hide function on the screens, there might be fields that may not make sense to the end user and will display on the report.
    Outcome: Any field that is hidden on the screen will not show up on the report.
