Add an option to identify pets as a “Household Member"
User Story:
As an outreach worker who works with unhoused individuals and their pets, I want an option to be added that identifies a pet in the “Household Members” section so that we can link the pet to the owner, have an accurate representation of family size, track safety and liability, and know who the client will be taking with them if they were to receive housing. We provide services to clients AND their animals, and we propose a comprehensive set of criteria to be included such as:
- Photo Entry
- Breed
- Age
- Name
- Color
- Microchip status
- Vaccination records
- Size
- Temperament
- Health conditions
By accommodating these details, we aim to ensure that both human and animal members of our homeless community receive the support and resources they need.
Priority: Level 3
Current Process: Currently there is no process in place to track pets.

commentedOne of our community's ES programs will allow pets. Currently, we are tracking the pet services in a SSO program and are having to enroll the client into that program. If we were able to enroll the pet, that would be amazing!

commentedI would love this idea for my organization as well! We have many pets and it'd be useful to be able to run a report to quickly give staff a heads up (as well as aggregate animal data for grant purposes). My only additional request is that, should this be implemented, make a way to filter in Looker/Dashboards so that client counts can distinguish humans vs animals with ease.

commentedThis is a great opportunity for the unhoused and their furry families. Many unhoused have the need for this and don't want to be misplaced without their pets. This will also reunite pets with actual owners if chips are present. Way to go!
